  1. A swimmer whose completed application is on file and whose payment is received in the Club office may practice. A two-week trial is allowed for new swimmers. If at the end of the two-week trial the swimmer drops, the team fees will be returned. If the swimmer cannot begin practice immediately, he/she must notify the coaches in writing. We have a waiting list and cannot hold places if the swimmer is unsure if they want to stay on the team. If the swimmer decides to drop from the team, he/she must apply for a refund, in writing, to the coaches. The last day to drop from the team (with coach’s approval) and receive a full refund is May 11, 2007. For example, dropping out in June and requesting a refund because of attendance at a limited number of practices is not acceptable. Our expenses are the same and must be paid even if the swimmer does not show up. There is a waiting list of swimmers willing to participate.

  2. Swimmers must exhibit courteous behavior, good sportsmanship, and respect for property, before, during and after practices and meets.

  3. Swimmers may not sit or hang on lane lines at practice or at any other times while the team is using the pool facilities.

  4. Swimmers may not use the HOT TUB, SAUNA, BABY POOL OR DIVING BOARD during practices or meets. Swimmers are to respect all Club facilities and other Members. Shower time must be limited to one minute so water isn’t wasted and others can use the showers. All swimmers are encouraged to use the outside showers. Disturbances such as water or paper fights or any other unsafe or obnoxious behavior may result in lost privileges or dismissal from the team.

  5. Our Coaches’ first responsibility is to the swimmers in the water during practice. Please do not approach them with questions and/ or concerns during practice. Please call the Club to arrange a time to talk with the coaching staff. They will be happy to return your call.

  6. Swimmers must follow Club rules as well as the directions of coaches, lifeguards, Club personnel, and team officials at all times. For everyone’s safety, swimmers or parents who see misbehavior should report it to the coaching staff. This is especially true when in the locker rooms! Follow all the rules, all the time!

  7. Swimmers must remain with the team during practice. If a swimmer must leave early, please let your coach know prior to entering the pool. Coaches cannot supervise swimmers outside the practice area. All swimmers need to be picked up from practices ON TIME. Coaches are not responsible for supervising swimmers that have not been picked up.

  8. All information, requests, comments, questions, and concerns must be given to coaches IN WRITING - this includes planned absences from meets or practice, medical information, or anything else your coach should know. Messages for coaches may be left at the Club’s Front Desk. Please give the first and last name of swimmer, parent name and telephone number; then specify who on the coaching staff should receive the message.

  9. Swimmers must enter the pool feet-first at all times. The ONLY exception is when they are under the direct supervision of coach or starter. This includes entering feet-first at meets prior to backstroke events. There is NO DIVING at any other time.

  10. Practice Requirements: Swimmers are strongly encouraged to attend at least three practices per week for 10 and under age groups, and four practices per week for 11 and older age groups, and represent the team at all meets. Eligibility for Championships requires that a swimmer swim in at least two (2) leagues meets during the current season. Current year-round swimmers must talk to the Head Coach if there is a need for an individual practice schedule. Regardless, all swimmers are expected to attend all meets, especially Championships. Plan accordingly! Special cases may be appealed to the league, so always ask about eligibility. Illness, jobs, family emergencies, etc. are considered to be reasonable excuses.

  11. Our meets are pre-seeded. This means that swimmer entries are due on Tuesday night before each swim meet. Host teams must prepare a completed list of every participant in every event prior to the meet. Coaches begin preparing early in the week before a meet. There is a great deal of wasted work if swimmers are entered and do not show, not to mention the possibility of some children not being able to swim. Therefore swimmers must not only make every meet if possible, but also let the coaches know if they cannot. Add-on entries are purely at the discretion of the host team. Swimmers arriving at a meet unexpectedly may not be able to swim. Each swimmer must submit his/her own entry form by Tuesday before the meet on Saturday. Forms are usually available the Saturday before the meet. Choose 2 events to swim or indicate if you will not be swimming.

  12. Parents must donate time and energy to the production of weekly swim meets. It takes a lot of work to make a meet run smoothly, and everyone needs to participate. Do not hesitate to step forward and volunteer.

  13. The most important rule of all is to HAVE FUN! It’s summer and the coaches, with the help of parents and Club staff, are here to provide the best experience possible for everyone.

Practice Makes Perfect
During practice, leave all gear at the pool deck near the playground side of the training/smaller pool. Swimmers may not leave clothing, backpacks, and other belongings in the locker rooms. This will minimize theft and not interfere with other Club functions. Again, the designated team area is located next to the playground area and the pace clock. It may get cold during practices. Each swimmer should have towels and warm garments to wear after practice (team sweats are ideal). Please put your name on everything. Lost or interchanged gear is always a problem.
